Two fatalities following roof collapse at West Virginia mine.

Two miners have been confirmed dead by West Virginia State Police following a roof collapse at the Patriot Coal operated Brody Mine #1 near Wharton in Boone County, West Virginia, at about 10.00 pm local time on Monday 11 May 2013. One of the dead miners has been identified by his family as Eric Legg by his family, but no other details are available at this time.

Brody Mine #1 was accused of numerous 'significant and substantial' violations of the Federal Mine Safety and Health Act of 1977 (Mine Act), by the Mine Safety and Health Administration in a report published in October 2013.
